This year, we are pleased to share that Senior Mechanical Engineer, Luke Mitchell is part of the planning committee for the CIBSE Technical Symposium 2019 – Transforming Built Environments.

The event is taking place at the University of Sheffield, on the 25th and 26th April and promises to be relevant and thought-provoking, with a theme of ‘Transforming Built Environments and Driving Change with Engineering’.

Having attended the event in previous years, Luke will be joined for his first year on the planning committee by some of the UK’s leading technical minds in the industry.

Luke shared:

“Engineering and Construction has been far slower to adopt new technology than many other industries and is only now beginning to undergo a modern transformation. Its static productivity is on the increase at last, with the new digital technologies and methodologies which are being more widely adopted.

“These advances in techniques, technologies and expectations, driven by enhanced scientific understanding and the unprecedented access and processing of information can, and will, motivate positive change.

“The CIBSE Technical Symposium 2019 provides an ideal platform where professionals within the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry can examine and share research, developments and applications that will drive change in the regulation, creation and maintenance of the built environment and lastly, evidence where there are still clear opportunities to benefit from established practices.”

What to expect at the CIBSE Technical Symposium:

  • Both days will be chaired by UCL/CIBSE’s Professor Tim Dwyer and will allow attendees plenty of opportunities for discussion in the sessions and throughout the symposium.
  • The event will include presentations that outline crucial local and global contexts.
  • The two days boast a fantastic line-up of expert speakers and fully peer-reviewed presentations on critical sector topics, full of choices creating an inspiring environment for attendees to learn, discuss and network.
  • Attendees will gain access to valuable cutting edge papers and case studies to refer to and share with colleagues.

If you would like to be part of this critical conversation, you can secure your place today, or alternatively please contact Luke Mitchell by email or by calling 08450 990285 to find out more.
