We were thrilled to host our EVE Demonstration & Workshop last week at Nottingham Trent University, where we demonstrated the capabilities of the EVE solution to a diverse group of industry professionals.
The event was made even more special by the presence of our long-term partners, Network Rail, who have also invested in EVE and continue to support its development to suit their bespoke requirements.
Live demonstrations were delivered by members of the KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) team, showcasing real-time applications of the technology. Attendees also had the opportunity to experience the 360° BIM Cave, an immersive visualisation environment that brought asset data to life in a dynamic and engaging way.
The workshop sparked plenty of insightful questions and enthusiasm from those in attendance, highlighting the growing interest in digital innovations for asset management.
Eastern Examiner for Anglia and East Midlands Routes at Network Rail, shared:
“This system is fantastic and very easy to use from an examiner’s point of view, with excellent potential for future exams.”

Veronica Ruby-Lewis, Waldeck’s Associate Director overseeing the development of EVE commented:
“After years in the making, it was great to be able to bring our Examination and Visualization Environment (EVE) to the wider industry, and demo how our solution provides an innovative way to inspect and maintain asset portfolios.”
Neale Stephens, Waldeck’s Divisional Director added:
“Honoured to compere an event showcasing the EVE software and the incredible collaboration behind it. From Dr. Andrew Knight’s opening remarks to insights from Prof. Song Wu on the NTU and Waldeck KTP partnership, Veronica Ruby-Lewis’s development overview, and a compelling case study by Network Rail’s Anna Harrison and Owen Thomas, who shared how they’ve trialled EVE and plan to roll it out across their business units. Thanks to all the presenters and attendees who made the workshop a success!”
Anna Harrison, Network Rail’s Senior Engineer said:
“EVE offers an exciting opportunity to move towards a more integrated, visual, and intelligent approach to asset management. At Network Rail, we are beginning to embrace this shift, recognising the value of digital tools in enhancing the way we examine our bridges. As the technology continues to evolve, I’m optimistic about its potential to support more efficient, consistent, and data-driven decision-making.”
Song Wu, Associate Dean at Nottingham Trent University mentioned:
“The success of the EVE demonstration and workshop exemplifies the strength of our collaboration with Waldeck Consulting. It is immensely rewarding to lead the transformation of a research concept into a commercial product that delivers tangible impact and supports Network Rail’s objectives. I’m excited to continue driving this project forward and seeing the difference it makes.”
EVE is a proven solution offering a safer, faster, and more cost-effective approach to asset inspection and maintenance.
