The role

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to be based within our project-based team in Bristol and the South West.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the engineering delivery, along with certain project management tasks, of subcontractors in the UK.  They will be responsible for the production of typical electrical details associated with the project cable installation and the design of the cabling system for a standalone auxiliary boiler building.

Responsibilities

Within this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Function as main technical point of contact for Subcontractors
  • Perform technical reviews of Subcontractor’s deliverables
  • Monitor, manage and report on the progress of Subcontractors
  • Process technical queries and general communications from Subcontractors, using Project and Document Management systems.
  • Attend technical and commercial meetings with, and on the behalf of, the ISM and DTM
  • Monitor and manage the progress of technical issues through to closure
  • Provide the interface between the Subcontractor and company Technical Engineering Department in Paris
  • Maintain effective communications with all Project stakeholders and execute the project strategies within their contract or package of work
  • Apply the principles of Continuous Improvement, ensuring that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual.
  • Undertake contract administration activities to support the ISM and DTM.
  • Produce and format presentations and reports for the ISM and DTM

Skills and experience

  • A good track record of a supporting role delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment
  • Strong electrical installation knowledge. In-depth knowledge of cables and cable accessories would be advantageous
  • Client facing experience
  • Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery
  • Knowledge of document management systems
  • Familiarity with NEC3 contracts
